Like every year, Pantone names the color of the year and after 2017's "Greenery" green, this year make way for Ultra Violet! According to Pantone Color Institute Director (Leatrice Eiseman), this nuanced and emotional color communicates "originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking" and "brings hope and an uplifting message." Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet also suggests the mysteries of the cosmos... Until now, enigmatic purples have long been associated with counterculture, nonconformity and artistic brilliance.
In the symbolism of colors, purple evokes dreams, softness, spirituality and would have soothing virtues on the spirits (the use of purple color in meditation spaces inspires connection) and would channel emotions.
The color of the year is meant to influence all the trends of the year, whether it's fashion, decorating, design, etc. We can't wait to work on this color!
